EVE Online, the extremely popular MMO about to reach its tenth birthday has been honoured again, this time by The Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The famous museum’s new Applied Design installation opened to the public yesterday (March 1st) and will be running until January 31st 2014.
The guys at CCP Games responded to this by creating “Day in the Universe” a visual experience that takes views on a journey into the EVE universe through the joint experience of the players. This was done by putting a call out for gamers to submit personal game play recordings, all from a single day. This was then combined and compressed into the spectral that is “Day in the Universe”

“We couldn’t imagine telling the story of the EVE Universe without putting our players and their actions front and centre,” said Torfi Frans Olafsson, Creative Director, EVE IP Development Division. “The exhibition was such an inspiring project to work on. Seeing our universe under the same roof as so many other legendary works we love makes that collaboration an even more meaningful honour.”
