Ghosts, Ghouls and haunting delights, a graveyard event full of fun and frights!

Mabar promises tricks and treats

Just in time for Halloween

Just in time for Halloween, Dungeons and Dragons Online by Turbine/WB Games is gearing up for a hauntingly good time full of fighting, mischief and treats.  From Thursday October 25th untill Sunday November 4th, players will be able to participate in this live event.

A third time for this frightful event

Starting in 2010, the Mabar festival got off to a rocky beginning, with complaints about lag issues and the fight with Eternity the dragon locking some players out, and having it as an open instance event rubbed some of the long-term players the wrong way. Yet many participated in the events and had a blast. The true fall out came from a faulty programming protocol, which gave out mass warnings and bans to the game for no reason at all, causing many players to be wary of this event.

Back in all its ghoulish glory

But now, two years later, Mabar returns for its 3rd official appearance, and players will once again be able to comb Delera's grave yard and turn back the hordes of undead threatening to spill out into storm reach. They can gather materials needed to unlock an epic battle with Eternity, a spectral dragon who requires team work and skills using special torch lighting to help defeat it.

Gear up and battle ghosts

Do you have what it takes to quell the rising dead, dance with Zombie hordes and duel with skeleton knights? Or even red named boss creatures such as Liches and Vampires, who are bent on your very destruction? One thing is clear - in Delera's Graveyard, the dead want you to join their massive ranks, and they have the forces necessary to accomplish that.

The battle's great, but what about the treats?

But thrilling battles and frightful delights are not the only things that greet you with this festival. Goodies galore come with this event, from craftable cloaks, handwraps (for monks), robes, armor and other gear for those looking to power up in dark magic fashion.  This event promises to have something for everyone participating.

Set in the world of Ebberon and the Forgotten Realms, Dungeons and Dragons Online remains a long standing MMO from Turbine Games. Mabar is one of many yearly events, along with Pirates Cove (summer-fall) and Festivault (Christmas/Yule) that the developers put forward to keep their player base entertained. The Mabar event is an open instance event that leads into a closed 12 man instance fight against a spectral dragon. Those in the open instance can gain access to the event with friends if they are grouped, with collectible keys needed to enter the fight. The only known restriction to this is level; higher level players cannot participate in the Eternity fight with lower levels, and they will be separated. So, grab an even level group and go grave hunting with friends, it will be worth the venture.

So do you plan on participating in the Mabar Festival of Night? Talk to us about it in the forums and let us know how the event turns out for you!

Some quick Amendments, Mabar has been taken down do to some game play issues. I will report when the event is back up. And special thanks to SamiusGurobo who let me know that the Eternity fight is actually a 24 person instance. I always thought it was 12 good to know.
