Bethesda teases us with a reimagining of the classic Wolfenstein franchise.

Wolfenstein's back!

Bethesda Softworks, today announced a new title that's gotten me quite excited, Wolfenstein: The New Order, an action-adventure shooter aiming for a 2013, Q4 release. Wolfenstein has been widely credited for helping establish and popularise the FPS genre, and Wolfenstein: The New Order is a reimagining of this franchise, aiming to offer players a gripping and dramatic experience.

The game is being developed by MachineGames, a studio comprised of seasoned developers known for creating compelling, critically-acclaimed story-driven games. Ever heard of Starbreeze Studios? Remember The Darkness and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay? Oh yeah. I'm excited. The reimagining part makes me a little nervous, but I still hope for the best!

Wolfenstein: The New Order is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PC, and next generation consoles. Maybe this is also hinting at next gen consoles releasing this year?
