Hello readers! Kalari here with an update on the latest paid expansion to Lord of the Rings Online.

You may remember that I mentioned that the Riders of Rohan release was moved from last month to this one in my last podcast. Well, now the time is nearly upon us! This also launch coincides with some very fun festivities from the game developers. Step into Harvestmath a festival for all of Middle Earth, and enjoy fireworks and festivities, bands music and fun. All are welcome to enjoy the celebration which ends just days before the huge release of Riders of Rohan.

Join in for Harvestmath festivities!

Harvestmath is currently going on for LOTRO and will continue until October 14th, with games, music and NPC and player based events - questing will be furthest from your mind as you enjoy the festival!

New Developer Diaries detail the epic story!

The developers have followed up with yet another Dev Diary as well to explain the epic story behind the newest addition to LOTRO. You can check the video out here:

The developers talk about returning to the core story of the Lord of the Rings Lore, and show concept art that developed into the beautiful scenery you will experience in Riders of Rohan. They also reveal that the War of Middle Earth will finally gain some momentum. The story will go from the peaceful villages to the battlefields, according to the devs in this latest video.

But what is Riders of Rohan really about?

There is plenty more to this latest expansion, and I am sure there are still some of you may still be asking 'what is Riders of Rohan all about?' Any Lord of the Rings fanatic can tell you that the Rohan warriors were the finest of horsemen. The importance of this latest Lord of the Rings story arc brings you to the point where Boromir, son of Gondor, yields to temptation and causes the split of the fellowship, and is subsequently redeemed. Witness Frodo as he struggles with the path he needs to take in order to make his way to Mordor. The epic tale only becomes greater as you the player are brought into the world of Middle Earth.

The Launch is coming soon!

Riders of Rohan launches October 16th 2012, and it features the Rohan War Steeds and extensive mounted combat. Players who brought the pre purchase will receive special items from armor for their mounts to special titles and other swag. But even without such perks, Riders of Rohanbrings life to the epic journeys of Frodo and his fellowship. It brings the player closer to the ultimate adventure of securing the “one true ring's” destruction. This new expansion not only furthers the tale, but allows those with a love for the beautiful mounts of LOTRO to enjoy their fine steeds in battle.

So what will excite you about this upcoming Expansion? Is it the mounts, the new armor and titles, or just the continuing saga of your favorite heroes of Middle Earth? Comment below and share your opinions on this latest expansion!
